The Ehrentitel Verdienter Seemann was instituted in 1965 and awarded for long and meritorious service to the East German maritime industry. A maximum of 16 awards were granted each year making this a very scarce award. This one comes with its undress ribbon, which correctly has the miniature roundel on it.
