India General Service 1909-34 (Burma 1930-32) named 6283793 Pte. H. Osborne. The Buffs; 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, Defence and War Medals, Imperial Service Medal, E.II.R. (Henry Osborne) together with his miniature group. FUll size medals are mounted as worn in the incorrect order.
Henry Osborne was stationed with the 1st Battalion, The Buffs in Bareilly, India where they served from March 1927. They were next posted to Burma in October 1930 to aid in the suppression of a revolt, being stationed at Maymyo. Remaining here until 1935, Osborne went on to see Second World War service and further earn the award of the Imperial Service Medal in civilian life. His ISM is unresearched. The battalion also qualified for the Italy Star so it is possible that he was wounded or otherwise transferred out since he does not have it.
