1865 Medaglia per l'Indipendenza e l'Unita d'Italia

The Medal was created in 1865 for those who participated in the wars of 1849 to 1865, first against Austria and then the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, together with other smaller conflicts. By 1865 Italian unification had encompassed all of Italy except Venetia, still held by Austria, and the Papal States, including Rome, and the first Italian parliament met  in Florence that year.

In silver and nicely toned.
