The France bar was awarded to those who fought in 1939-40 prior to the Fall of France. This one is with its original certificate to a Brigadier (Corporal) Leopold Labalette from Isbergues, which is near the Belgian border in the Pas de Calais region. The certificate is signed by the commander of the company, Captain Deruy. It also notes that 8 members of the unit were cited for bravery in fighting between 21st and 24th May 1940.

In a glazed frame, this with some wear.
