A nicely made cap with a Balfour cap badge. Named to Stanley Woodworth Chittick with research from his Dartmouth College yearbook which shows that he served from 1963-66. Most of his service was on USS Independence, serving in the Mediterranean and Guantanamo Bay. The USS Independence was the aircraft carrier and main ship in the task force that moved off the Cuban coast during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Minor service wear overall but a nice piece with a direct link to an important piece of early Cold War history.
